Your Accommodation

It’s impossible to have a great holiday, if you are unhappy with your accommodation. A high standard of accommodation is one of the hallmarks of Footscape, since we hand-pick all the hotels, inns and B&Bs that we use. All rooms have ensuite or private bath and/or shower.

If you are on your own or would like a room to yourself, you will usually be given a single occupancy of a double or twin room.

On our inn to inn walking holidays, standards can sometimes vary, as there is often little or no choice of accommodation along the trail, although most overnight stops are very comfortable indeed, especially on our Inland Heritage walking holiday. Please try to book early, so that we can secure the best accommodation for you.

On most holidays you can choose between two types of accommodation - a hotel (A1) or a B&B or simple village inn (A2). In two cases, there is a very special (but expensive) alternative for all or part of your stay (A+). The choice you make will determine the cost of your holiday:

A2 a comfortable B&B (guest house) or village inn
A1 a good hotel, a country house, a luxury inn or equivalent in standard
A+ one of Dorset's oldest, finest and most reputed country house hotels

Sometimes we may propose a superior B&B or inn or else a simple hotel where the price and standard are between those of our A2 and A1 options, which we classify as A2+. These places usually come with a strong recommendation from us.

If you have arranged your own accommodation, but would still like to book a Footscape holiday, please contact us.

Dogs

Some places accept dogs, often with restrictions or with a small supplementary charge. Please tell us on the short enquiry form if you intend to bring a dog with you, so that we can try to find suitable accommodation.

We thought it was one of the best holidays we have ever had... We could hardly fail to be captured by your enthusiasm for your subject.”
